When your smartest tool can also be your riskiest one, how do you lead responsibly?
Last week, I had the privilege of training Serianu Kenya Limited on Responsible AI. It wasn’t your typical tech workshop. We didn’t just explore how GenAI works — we explored how to make it work safely.
From AI hallucinations to data privacy, and from ethical bias to national compliance, we navigated the frontier of responsible innovation. Kenya’s Data Protection Act gave us a strong foundation, but the real impact came from Serianu’s leadership mindset: asking hard questions, testing real-world cases, and applying the lessons across cybersecurity, consulting, and analytics.
What stood out most was this: The tools are powerful. The risks are real. But the responsibility is ours.
We closed the session with a challenge:
- Lead the AI class.
- Start small.
- Use red-yellow-green data policies.
- Craft smarter prompts.
- Be transparent with stakeholders.
AI isn’t just for technologists anymore. It’s for anyone who builds, leads, or protects.
Thanks again to the team at Serianu. You made the future just a little safer.
